You have to look at this topic from two sides, 1.: What are the real improvements of GE? and 2.: Is it justified and morally compatible?
1. The real improvements of GE are for example the elimination of diseases which nowadays bother humanity, with GE we could be successful against ageing, illness and death.
With a `gene therapy´ diseases could be prevented and healed.
And humanity will be in balance, no diseases, no genetic disorders, a perfekt world with perfekt human.
2. Are we all starting to play god? Do we want to produce human, or do we still want to give them the gift of life? Is GE morally acceptable or is it totally wrong in the worlds values? Is there enough reason tu do GE? GE is unnatural.
maybe GE is not as unnatural as one might think, maybe it is a vital part of evolution.
